Using the The DCO iPhone App as a Model. (its our App)

iOS 4.0 was released earlier this month and it hit developers in the jaw hard.  Apps were crashing left and right. Big names as well as small names had to and still are updating the iOS 4 tested apps.

Important points that some are touching on:

• PNGs in the 300dpi – 600dpi (we went with 600dpi)

I was looking at the app because I own a cleaners and thought it would be helpful to my customers. It would also help me because they can track their orders. If they have descriptions of what they drop off, it is really helpful because things happen, no place is perfect and mistakes do happen. A good description is very helpful. I get a lot of people who misplace items at home or forget they pick things up. It might help me more then them!!

The DCO app is really easy to use, I really like it! I’ll let my customers know when I go back to work on Monday!

iOS 4.0 Tested

1. Checked-In feature for Wardrobe items

☼   Now user will see a Green Check-Mark on Wardrobe items, if that item is checked-in to Dry Cleaner. The Checked-In check-mark will be automatically removed when the Receipt containing that item will be moved from ‘Pending Receipts’ to ‘Receipts History’.

2. Monthly/Yearly Expenditure feature for earlier 10 years from Current Year

☼  User will be provided a tabular view for Expenditures on Dry Cleaning for each Month. User now has the ability to view Expenditures per Month or for the entire Year for last 10 years.

3. Dry Cleaners search in User Locality

☼  User will not have to enter any address to search for the Dry Cleaner. All the Dry Cleaners available in the 10 miles of User’s Current Location will be displayed on the Map. The Dry Cleaners details has also been changed to provide User with below information about the Dry Cleaners:

A. Dry Cleaner Name                                                                

B. Address

C. Phone

D. Distance from User’s Current Location

E. Total Ratings provided by other Users to the Dry Cleaner

F. Average Rating

G. Total Reviews done for Dry Cleaner

H. Last Review posted by other Users about the Dry Cleaner

☼  User can now add any Dry Cleaner to the Cleaners List by simply clicking one button. Also a feature is provided to identify which Cleaners are added to Cleaners List by User and which ones are added as Favorites. The color legend is as below:

1. Dry Cleaner not added to Cleaners List – RED color pin will be dropped on map for such cleaner

2. Dry Cleaner is added to Cleaners List, but not added as Favorite – GREEN color pin will be dropped on map for such cleaner

3. Dry Cleaner is added as Favorite – PURPLE color pin will be dropped on map for such cleaner
